Grant Junior High School

Grant Jr. High was built in 1926 and named after Beulah L. Grant.  Grant Jr. High only has two grades 7th and 8th for now. Next year 6th grade will join us. Our classes include English, social studies, science, math, art, yearbook class, and PE. Students have to pay a fee for some class supplies. The money must be paid at the office. The activities carried on through the TA (Teacher Advisory) program include: Silent sustained reading, candy sales fundraiser, and behavior support. We are trying to stop the bullying in the school because we know it can be emotional, physical, sexual, verbal, cyber, or mobile phone. Our principal, Mr. Raymer, will not except bullying.

The mascot for Grant Junior High is the mustangs.  We have the following sports: basketball, football, track, wrestling, volleyball, cross country, and cheerleading.

Cell phones in Grant Jr. High are a big part of life. Students are allowed to use cell phones only before school and after school. But if a student needs to use a phone, they can use the one in the office. If a student gets in trouble because they have a cell phone, the phone gets taken away and the teacher will escort the student down to the office. The dress code is to wear appropriate clothes to school. Bare midriffs, see-through clothes, halter tops, low-cut shirts, and unhemmed cut-offs are not acceptable. The body must be covered to insure modesty. If students wear that kind of clothing, they will be asked to change into appropriate clothes.
