National Weather Service

Goodland’s National Weather Service is one of five in Kansas. It uses forecast predications with Doppler radar. It also offers five-day weather forecasts. National Weather Service offers enhanced radar images ranging from 39.361 degrees. The National Weather Service in Goodland is the smallest one out of the five in Kansas.

The directions to the National Weather Service are: north on Caldwell Street to Armory Road and then east ½ of a mile. They are open 8 a.m to 5 p.m during the week. The approximate time it takes to tour the National Weather Service is 1 hour and 30 minutes. No admission is charged . The Goodland Forecast includes 19 counties of Northwest Kansas, Southwestern Nebraska, and Northeastern Colorado.

    If there are only 5 national weather service, it would be more easy this service if Kansas have more?

    do you control all the weather with the radar or do you have other ways.?

    The workers get all the weather from the big white ball which is the doppler radar.
